2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards Highlights : Chris Lighty Tribute And The Cyphers [VIDEO]

Last night's BET Hip-Hop Awards didn't disappoint, it was off the chain.  As always Mike Epps did his thing and kept the audience both laughing and entertained.

Despite all the drama that was unfolding back stage and in the parking lot, for the most part the show was a TV success.  Their were several highlights through the night, one in particular was the tribute to the late Chris Lighty.

The Hip-Hop community joined forces to pay their respects to Chris Lighty, who was found dead in his apartment a few weeks ago from a single gun shot to the head. As his death is currently under investigation, Hip-Hops biggest night couldn't continue without recognizing the former Violator CEO and music mogul. Q-Tip and Phife Dawg weren't the only ones to put their differences aside, 50 Cent and Fat Joe swallowed their pride as well for the tribute.  It was hot!

Then of course, the ultimate highlight is the cypher segment of the show. This years six-cypher serices included DMX, Eve, T.i., A$AP Rocky, E-40, Snoop Dogg, Mysitkal, Kendrick Lamar, DJ Quick and others. Here's a look at last nights cyphers.
