According to USA Today, 56-year-old James Robertson of Detroit makes a 21-mile round trip to work and back home every weekday. 10 years ago Robertson had a car, but it broke down.  Because of his hourly rate he was never able to afford to purchase another form of transportation.

People across the country have now donated thousands of dollars to help James Robertson get a new vehicle, and so much money has been raised that he may just have a bit left over. One thing Robertson assures about his choice to walk to work everyday is that, ‘No one can say I didn’t pay my dues.’ Respect!

This story really makes me reevaluate the things I take for granted each day. What I complain about at times is minuscule compared to what James Robertson has experienced the past 10 years, and seemly without much complaint.
