CPSO Arrest Man For Attempted Kidnapping

On Wednesday February 12th CPSO Safe School Officers at a local middle school were alerted of a situation concerning a 14 year old girl who was approached by an unknown male. This occurred while she was walking to school near Louisiana Avenue in Lake Charles.

When the deputies spoke with the young lady she stated that a man in an SUV pulled out a firearm and tried to force her into the vehicle. She attempted to run away, but the suspect caught up to her.

She was able to get away and reported the incident to the CPSO School Crossing Guard who was in front of the school.Upon investigation detectives were able to obtain a description along with video surveillance. The detectives located the vehicle traveling on I-10 during a traffic stop. The Detectives made contact with the driver Sean M. Kelly 31 of Lake Charles and he was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with attempted simple kidnapping. His bond has been set at $75,000.
