CPSO Makes November 2, DWI Arrest
A deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office made traffic stop on an SUV on November 2, at about 11:00pm, near the intersection of Ernest Street and West Hale Street after the driver committed a traffic violation.
According to a media release from Kim Myers, the deputy noticed the driver, Dillon S. Johnson, 26, 5532 Central Drive, Lake Charles, was emitting an odor of alcohol from his breath, and his eyes were glassy. Johnson was then observed having issued with maintaining his balance. He told the deputy he had drank three alcoholic beverages, and had been drinking alcohol since about noon until an hour before he began driving.
Johnson was given a standard field sobriety test which he "performed poorly on" and was arrested and taken to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office for a breath intoxilyzer test that showed he was over the legal limit. He has two prior DWI arrests, said Myers.
Johnson was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 3rd; and two brake lights required. His bond is set at $10,250.
