Deceased Body Found in Trunk of Car on Sunday Night
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriffs Office received a call on Sunday night about a woman driving around with a dead body in her trunk. Deputies reportedly later located the car traveling on North Franklin Street in Lake Charles, conducted a traffic stop and located a deceased woman in the trunk of the car.
Inside the car was the driver, Sarah M. Parker, 24, of Moss Bluff, and the passenger, Logan T. Kyle, 22, an active duty soldier at Fort Polk was the husband of the deceased woman found in the truck. There was also a 1 and 2-year-old in the car, both are Parker's kids, who were taken into custody by the Department of Children and Family Services.
An investigation determined that Kyle killed his wife at Fort Polk, and with Parker's knowledge of what happened, were going to attempt to dispose of her body.
Parker was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with obstruction of justice; and failure to report a homicide. Her bond is still pending.
The U.S. Army CID was contacted because the homicide happened in Fort Polk. Kyle was then picked up by the Army.
The homicide remains under investigation by CPSO.
