Page Six reports a five-page letter/essay written by Tupac is being sold for $225,000! The pages are special for a number of reasons.  For starters Pac was murdered less than a year after he wrote it.  The iconic rapper penned the letter in 1995 while he was in jail at the New York Clinton Correctional Facility, serving time for rape. Pac maintained his innocence to the end and for more info, including sound bites from Tupac himself talking about the case and more click here.   He did 8 months in prison, until Suge Knight posted $1.4 million for his bail.  Shortly after that Tupac joined Deathrow Records.

Pac reportedly wrote the letter to Death Row employee and Death Row Uncut magazine editor Nina Bhadreshwar.  Shakur wrote about the rites of passage of the young black male in America, how he was going to change his life and leaving the “Thug Life” behind. He granted Bhadreshwar sole access to publish his letter instead of Rolling Stone or TIME.

In an excerpt of the essay, Tupac wrote:

“Thug Life to me is dead.  If it’s real, then let somebody else represent it, because I’m tired of it.” He wrote “[Many] never survive the next level of Thug Life . . . They become addicted to death. A True Boss Playa knows when to advance . . . U must play the game, not let the game play u.  A regular Playa plays women . . . a Boss Playa plays life. A Boss Playa is a thinker, a leader, a builder, a moneymaker, a souljah, a teacher and most of all, a Man! I want all my homiez to know there is another level.”
