Lake Charles Man Charged with Beating Girlfriend and Killing Her Dog

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Deputies say a Lake Charles man beat his girlfriend by punching her and slamming her hands in a door.  Then, for an encore, he allegedly slammed her dog against a wall until he killed it.

Sean L. Collett, 24, of Cobb Road, had an argument with his girlfriend that turned physical.

The victim advised deputies Collett dragged her through the living room, choked her, and also struck her several times in the lower jaw and back causing severe bruising.  When the victim attempted to flee, Collett smashed her hand with a door and grabbed her arm, leaving numerous bruise(s).

Throughout the argument, the victim's dog kept barking, so Collett threw the dog against the walls "several times," killing it.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and then released.  Collett will face second-degree battery charges and aggravated animal cruelty.  His bond was set at $30,000.
