The Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) State Softball Tournament starts today at the North Frasch Softball Complex in Sulphur.

This is a special year for the tournament for a couple of reasons. First, today marks the 20th year the tournament is being held right here in Sulphur. The other reason is this year, the tournament can finally go back to normal as far as attendance. Due to the Governor's announcement on Tuesday, the LHSAA tournament can open at full capacity because it takes place outside.

Participating schools, athletes, coaches and fans will all flock to Sulphur starting today for the big three-day tournament.

The tournament begins today, with the semifinals on Thursday and Friday. Then, all the state championship games for all classes and divisions will take place on Saturday. All semifinal and final games will be held at 11:00am and 3:00pm on Saturday.

To attend,  you will need to buy your tickets online through the LHSAA website because there will be no tickets sold at the gate. Tickets are $13 apiece and come with a $1.65 convenience fee.

According the Kathryn Shea Duncan from the Tourist Bureau of Southwest Louisiana,

Tickets are only good for the session/game selected, and you must present your mobile device to redeem your tickets. Please note that the park will be cleared after each session for sanitization, and there will be no re-entry to the park once you exit.

Go out and support these high school athletes starting today through Saturday in Sulphur.
