Today in Tha Wire, in a tragic turn of events rap star Yella Beezy was shot on a Dallas freeway early Sunday morning. The 26-year old whose real name is, Deandre Conway, released "That's On Me," and has a bright future in the rap game. The track is the first official hit single off his mixtape, Lit Work Vol. 2. The tape has been out for a year, but it's just now making noise. Beezy is still very early in his career, but he's poised to gain superstardom status at the rate things are going. The young rap star had to watch his performance at the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards from his hospital bed.

Few young artists, get a chance to open for Carter's, but Beezy's already managed to scratch that off his bucket list. In September the Texas rapper performed his new single with DJ Khaledduring the Dallas stop of Jay Z and Beyonce's On The Run Tour IINow, "That’s On Me" is getting some long overdue attention, by becoming the #1 record on mainstream rap/R&B radio.

A police investigation is underway, but very little is known about the shooting. The good news is no one else was injured, and more importantly, Yella survived and is expected to make a full recovery. AllHipHop reports his rep, Sanda Lal, took to Instagram to give fans an update on his condition.

"Thank you to all of the fans who have sent prayers and condolences on behalf of Yella Beezy, He is currently in stable condition and will make a speedy recovery. We appreciate your continued support and ask that you keep him in your prayers and respect his family’s privacy at this time."

Capt. Dan Rochelle says no arrested have been made in connection with the shooting yet, and so far the motive is unknown, and there are no suspects. Beezy was reportedly driving down the Sam Rayburn Tollway in Lewisville on Sunday (Oct. 14), when a car rolled up alongside him and opened fire. There are several different reports on how many times he was shot, and why, but the Dallas Morning News is reporting he was hit three times.

Dallas PD found the rap star badly wounded on the side of the road, and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Houston rap legend Trae Tha Truth asked for prayers shortly after the shooting, taking to Instagram posting, "Damn.... Prayers Up... Bad News Coming From Every Direction The Last 24hours," he captioned a photo of Beezy. "Pull Through🙏🏿 @yellabeezy214 #Texas."

Police investigating who fired more than a dozen shots on the Sam Rayburn Tollway, striking a 26-year-old man multiple times. No word yet if this was a road rage shooting.

In other news, Kanye West has everyone talking about his recent visit to the White House. About a month ago he admitted to something we all have known for a while now, that he was dealing with a mental illness. Ye hasn't been the same since the lose of his mother. It's clear to see he is sad, and mentally unstable. A tuff reality for everyone who is a fan of the star. CNN news anchor and host, Don Lemon said he was saddened to see the rap star going through this. Lemon noted that he would rather see Kanye get help, than see him being taken advantage of in front of cameras.

I totally agree with Don on this. Kanye needs help, not camera time. He is clearly mentally unstable, and it's heart-wrenching to watch him self-destruct like this. It isn't funny, and it hasn't been for a long time now. I also believe #45 could've used that Oval Office TV to offer something positive to viewers. Better yet, help ease the minds of fellow Americans dealing with the destruction of Hurricane Michael in the Southeast, rather than use Kanye to stroke his ego. Trump seems to think Kanye is helping him get the black vote. That's not ever gonna happen because Kanye represents himself, not the Black Community. It's sad.
