Results from Saturday, December 21, DWI Checkpoint

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office conducted a DWI and checkpoint on Saturday, December 21, in an continued effort to combat impaired drivers under the influence of alcohol and/or narcotics.

This weeks checkpoint took place in the 600 block of North Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff.

There were five hundred and sixty-two (562) vehicles checked; four (4) field sobriety tests administered; one (1) citation issued for expired motor vehicle inspection sticker; and one (1) citation issued for no child restraint.

Three people were arrested and issued a signed summons and released.

• Christopher J. Benoit, 40, Moss Bluff, arrested for DWI 1st.
• Victoria F. Harrington, 20, Westlake, arrested for DWI 1st and possession of marijuana.
• Lane H. Nunez, 23, Moss Bluff, arrested for DWI 1st.
