According to a press release from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, 43-year-old Richard H. LeDoux Jr. was arrested on November 17 at roughly 2 a.m., for 4th offense DWI.

According to CPSO, a deputy conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Bee Tree Street and Sampson Street in Westlake for a traffic violation. While pulling into a nearby parking lot after the deputy activated his unit’s lights and sirens, the driver of the truck struck a curb.

Authorities say, when the deputy approached the truck and spoke with the driver, Richard H. LeDoux Jr., of 821 Bee Tree Street, Westlake, the deputy detected the odor of alcohol on the drivers breath, and slurred speech. LeDoux advised the deputy that he had been drinking at a local bar prior to driving.

LeDoux performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test, was arrested and transferred to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, where a breath intoxilizer test revealed he was over the legal drinking limit.

According to authorities, LeDoux, who has three prior DWI arrests since 2008, was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 4th.

Judge Michael Canaday set his bond at $40,150.
