The Louisiana State Police (LSP) Troop D will conduct a seat belt and sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed location within Calcasieu Parish on Friday, March 29, between 8 pm and 2 am.

According to a media release, they're continuing their effort to combat impaired driving in Southwest Louisiana with a mission to detect and arrest impaired drivers before they can cause injury or death to themselves or others. They will also check vehicles for unrestrained motorists and occupants in an effort to reduce the number of traffic related fatalities caused by not wearing a seat belt, said LSP.

If you suspect someone of impaired driving, motorists are encouraged to dial *LSP (*577) from your cellular device or dial 911 to contact local law enforcement.

Buckle up, and driver sober.
